Flights and Ground Transportation
The easiest access to Princeton is from either Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR; slightly closer) or Philadelphia International Airport (PHL).
From Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR)
The easiest and fastest way to get from the Newark airport to Princeton is to take a cab or arrange a car service (the most reliable is A-1 Limousine (800-367-0070). It should take between 45 minutes to an hour, depending on traffic; however it is relatively expensive ($162.00 each way).
The most economical way is via the NJ Transit train (approximately 1 hour 15 minutes, including transportation to and from the stations). At the airport take the AirTrain to the rail station, buy a ticket to Princeton Junction at the machines at the station (~$16), and board any train headed to Trenton (you can check the train schedule ahead of time using the Trip Planner on http://www.njtransit.com). At Princeton Junction train station take a taxi to the hotel – about a 10 minute ride, and should cost around $18.

Another alternative is The Princeton Airporter, which has an information counter at the baggage claim area in each terminal at Newark Airport. Reservations for your trip to Princeton can be made at the desk when you arrive at the airport. Reservations must be made in advance for your return trip to the airport. The one-way cost is approximately $20 per person, and the trip takes approximately 90 minutes. The shuttle runs every hour, at fifteen minutes past the hour, from 7:15 AM – 10:15 PM Sunday – Friday. From Philadelphia International Airport (PHL)
Again, the easiest and fastest way to get from the Philadelphia airport to Princeton is to take a cab or arrange a car service (the most reliable is A-1 Limousine (800-367-0070). It should take between an hour and an hour and fifteen minutes, depending on traffic; however it is relatively expensive ($168.00 each way).
The most economical way to travel from the Philadelphia airport to Princeton is by rail. Take the SEPTA airport shuttle to 30th Street Station, and from there take a SEPTA train to Trenton (SEPTA’s 1st and only NJ stop), and change to a NJ Transit train to New York, getting off at the Princeton Junction Train Station (total costs of trains $16 – $17). From Princeton Junction take a taxi to the hotel as per the instructions above. The travel time from Philadelphia to Princeton can run between 2 – 2.5 hours. Alternatively, the airport is about a 90 minute taxi ride away from Princeton. Taxi service can be picked up at Zone 5 on the Commercial Transportation Roadway. All taxi rates are based per trip, not per person, and most taxis can accommodate up to three passengers. Fares are based on the meter and credit cards are accepted as a form of payment for taxi service.
